Questions, answered plainly.
Milk options, chicory, allergens, catering and where to find us next.
Is your chai vegan?
Our classic masala chai is made with whole milk, so it is vegetarian rather than vegan. Every chai on the menu can be made with barista oat milk, and the Oat Milk Masala Chai and Masala Limca are vegan as served.
Is oat milk available?
Yes. Barista oat milk is available for every chai and kaapi. On some drinks there is a small surcharge, which is listed on the menu.
Does filter kaapi contain chicory?
Yes. Our decoction follows the traditional South Indian ratio of roughly 80% coffee to 20% chicory, which gives kaapi its body and gently roasted finish.
Do you cater private events?
Yes — office mornings, weddings, brand activations, markets and private dinners across Berlin. Send us the date, guest count and location through the catering form and we will reply with availability.
Where can I find your next pop-up?
Confirmed pop-ups appear on the Pop-ups page and in our newsletter first. If nothing is listed yet, join the list and you will hear before the kettle is on.
Do you take card payments?
Payment methods depend on the venue we are pouring at. We will state accepted payment methods on each announced pop-up.
Can I book Haus of Chai outside Berlin?
Berlin and the surrounding area are our home base. For events further afield, write to us with the details and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it well.
Allergens
Our drinks and bites are prepared in a small kitchen that handles milk, nuts, gluten, egg and sesame, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free cup. Tell us about an allergy before you order and we will talk you through every ingredient.
